I wish you would’t take out your frustrations on me….

I love this hot weather we have been having, but ironically I really love the sight of the clouds floating in and the sounds around me as i lay here in the grass at the quad. The cool clouds have a soothing/relaxing sensation that I can’t really explain.

It scares me to think the things I will do when I become a doctor. The fact that you have someones life in your hand is something so unbearable. As of now I’m just so scared as I watch all these medical shows. Yea sure you’re probably thinking it’s just a tv show, but I’m thinking in the more deeper aspect of it, not the dramatized story line, but the decisions and confrontations of family and loved ones and actual lives. Crazy biopsies, exact precisions and details, it keeps me thinking can I really do this. One decision, one mess up can equal death.

I know I can! I’m just scared… But then again ” If you’re not scared about your passion, then your not passionate about it.” that’s what I say.

Word of Inspiration.

So today it was just a normal Sunday, I wake up to to the best thing in the world.** Cough Cough** my ROMAR MONSTAR haha. Then have lunch. And go to Core meeting. However, today ended with a little cherry on top. As our meeting came to an end and I was packing my colleague, fellow coordinator, Missy, came up to me and said ” Aww I just want to hug you right now because you have grown so much and stepped up.” or something along that line. Then, Beatrice, the head coordinator agreed and complimented also. It was so random, but so sweet to the ear. It may not seem like much to you, but to me it meant a lot because at times I feel as though I go unnoticed and unheard but today I was reassured that I was doing my job well and have grown from it. After they have said that I actually did notice how much I have grown. They gave me a chance to step back and to look at myself and how much I have grown from the beginning till now. Haha just wanted to get that out because man you two ladies definitely made my night. Thanks.

Yo whaddup!

My name is Sunny Pak and I am 3rd year at San Francisco State University hopefully double Majoring in Biology: Concentration on Physiology and Asian American Studies. I am a Korean Taurus that will tuning 21 on APRIL 24th!!! Can’t wait for that!! You guys all ready to party with me??  haha. Right now I live in Daly City with a couple of roommates but permanently reside at Hercules (Parents House). Before SFSU came about I went to Hercules Middle/High School and before that I lived in Vallejo for about 12 years.

Like I said I am Korean, yet very Filipino-washed. Funny huh? Well, if you guys don’t know, the cities I have lived at are all pretty much “FLIP TOWN”. Throughout my whole life I’ve been around and surrounded by the Filipino Culture and community that has captured my interest from the geico, from their food to the tight knit bonds they have with their family members and to where they make you feel pretty much like your one of the family. I loved it so much because my family and I are very close also and to see a culture share and show such quality was amazing. My friends were mostly Filipino and ironically had little to no Korean friends. Sometimes people would think that I am at least part Filipino. Some of my friends forget that I’m not Filipino, Heck I even forget that. haha. Before I used to think to myself, “Damn, I wish I was Filipino.” But anyways, I’m trying to get to the point that this is how I became the Academics Coordinator for PACE, Pilipino American Collegiate Endeavor. I was so in-tuned with my Filipino Culture that I wanted to go further and outreach to the Filipino community. I love being able to teach the interns how to strive for academic excellence and how to keep it going. I personally had an academic downfall in my college career due to lack of assistance and wrong advising. After that I was to the point where I wanted to give up and just break down, but the internship of PACE, specifically the Academics Department helped me balance out my life and gave me hope and courage for me to continue and go it back.  Because of this I was inspired and wanted to help out the upcoming interns. Helping them out and seeing them succeed gives me inspiration to go on and keep doing what I am doing. Honestly, being a coordinator isn’t an easy job… However I’m going a bit off topic ahah. Let me just point out that once again I’m full Korean… just wanted to throw that out there so I can blog about that later.

Anyways, man I’m so excited to be in this class. Especially, my group! NO MSG!!! “No Salt in our game; Too much Flavor!” Honestly, I really do love my group. I already sensed a great vibe from the start. I believe that all of us come from different backgrounds, not just about nationality, but also with how we were risen. We all have our own different “flavors” to add to the table! I hope to work a lot with my group and build a great friendship amongst all. As for the class. I’m excited to be a “Student Representative” and help out with everything on the student level. I will hopefully be working not only with my group, but with all the groups towards success!

Damn I just realized I didn’t really say much about myself and who I am. Haha I guess to close it up I will just say who I am in a nutshell. Well I am a very easy going kind of guy, very out going and easy to talk to. I love making new friends. I’m a chill guy who may be a bit shy at first, but breaks the ice and starts to mingle. I’m also a very active and love doing things spontaneously like getting temporary tattoos like you see in my picture. I also wanted to do and have done some many things from playing to piano to being in Choir, from playing football to playing badminton, and from Mock Trial to Junior Homecoming Prince. I’m pretty much down to do anything. There so much more but I just don’t know what else to say. Anything else just ask me. =) haha
